Gilt Jaceron Goldwork Thread

Jaceron is a lovely Purl style Goldwork thread. It is similar in appearance to Pearl Purl. It has a slightly different shape and size.

Jaceron is made by winding a wire into a tight coil. The finished thread looks like tiny gold pearls.

Available sizes:

  • Gilt #1 1/2 Jaceron
  • Gilt #2 Jaceron
  • Gilt #3 Jaceron
  • Gilt #6 Jaceron
  • Sold in 1 yard lengths

Jaceron needs to be stretched before it is used which enables the couching thread to slip down between the twist of the wire. Use tiny stitches to sew Jaceron at 3 or 4 coil intervals. We recommend using Au Ver A Soie 100/3 in a matching or contrasting color. If your stitches are placed at the same angle as the twist of the wire, it slips down between the coils and is invisible.

Jaceron threads are wonderful to use as outlines for designs. It can be cut into pearls and used as a filling. Consider combining Jaceron with other threads to interesting effects!

Dupioni silk

What I love about ecclesiastical sewing is the quality of their fabrics and the selection of liturgical fabrics that can be hard to find otherwise. I also Like the fact that if there is a question about anything I can email and communicate with a real person not a tangle of phone prompts and artificial voice systems. That’s so refreshing.
