Last year marked an incredible anniversary in the Lutheran Church. It was 500 years from the time Martin Luther started it all with the posting of his 95 Thesis on the Cathedral Door.
Many people marked the Reformation by attending special celebrations either at their home congregation or at special regional events. At Ecclesiastical Sewing, we were honored to play a role in many celebrations by providing vestments and altar hangings. Many of you may have missed the out on seeing these beautiful Reformation vestments based on the Small Catechism. For your viewing pleasure, here are a few of the designs from our Ecclesiastical Sewing Studio’s Reformation Collection.
Our Reformation Embroidery Designs were created by Edward Riojas and Carrie Roberts. This set was the first major collaborative design collection created by both artisans and it marked the beginning of what has become a wonderful working relationship and friendship. Our designs are unique in the world of vestment making. And we hope that many of you will help spread the word to about Ecclesiastical Sewing to family, friends, pastors, and churches.
If you missed updating your red altar hangings or stoles last season, it’s not too late to look at getting a new set in time for this year’s Reformation celebration. Please contact through our website at Ecclesiastical Sewing.
Soli Deo Gloria
N.B. While we create the Reformation vestments specifically for the Lutheran Church, we also create vestments for many other families of faith. Please check out some of our other designs at Ecclesiastical Sewing.
